PV Tech’s David Evans speaks with Brian Yaw, chairman of energy storage inverter manufacturer Megarevo, at SNEC 2023 in Shanghai, China.

Megarevo has supplied a cumulative 2.3GWh of energy storage inverters to date, manufacturing solutions for four scenarios: residential, commercial and industrial (C&I), microgrids and grid-scale energy storage.

The company was founded by a group of engineers, including Brian Yaw, who was a design engineer. Having tracked coming opportunities in energy storage a few years ago, Megarevo’s main markets until now have been North America and Western Europe.

At SNEC this year the company showcased its newest products, including next generation residential hybrid inverters with the latest technologies such as silicon carbide, which Yaw talks to us about, as well as the role of solar-plus-storage to replace conventional energy solutions globally.
