On December 13, 2024, Simon Zhong, Sales Manager for South China at TÜV NORD, along with Karena Zou from the Marketing Department, visited Shenzhen Megarevo Technology Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as "Megarevo"). They engaged in an in-depth discussion with David Wang, Megarevo’s R&D Director, and Certification Manager Huang Yong, focusing on the design and application of energy storage inverters.

During the interview, David Wang elaborated on the company’s design philosophy, technical features, and the performance of its energy storage inverters under extreme conditions.

How Does Megarevo Build a Comprehensive Safety Protection System?

When discussing the design principles of energy storage inverters, David Wang emphasized, “Safety is the cornerstone of energy storage system design. We strictly adhere to electrical safety standards, ensuring compliance from component selection to circuit design, and we incorporate design margins to guarantee reliable operation in complex environments.” He further highlighted Megarevo’s exceptional safety features in the following areas:

· Intelligent Thermal Management System: Precise temperature control strategies ensure stable operation under high or low-temperature conditions.

· Comprehensive Electrical Protection Functions: Overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection mechanisms quickly disconnect the system from the grid during faults, safeguarding system integrity.

· Robust Insulation and Grounding Design: Strict control of creepage distances and optimized battery grounding schemes meet or exceed relevant certification standards.

· Communication Interruption Protection: If communication with the BMS or EMS is interrupted, the device automatically enters protection mode to mitigate operational risks.

· Advanced Lightning Protection Design: Superior lightning protection across the grid, PV, and battery sides ensures stability even in lightning-prone environments.

· Adaptability to Extreme Conditions: Industrial-grade components enable operation across a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C/105°C.

What Features Address Grid Fluctuations and Faults?

On the topic of grid faults, David Wang introduced Megarevo’s multi-layer protection mechanisms. Megarevo’s energy storage inverters have passed national high/low voltage ride-through certifications, allowing them to handle grid voltage fluctuations effectively.

In both on-grid and off-grid applications, as well as in DC- and AC-side faults, Megarevo inverters isolate issues swiftly via internal disconnect devices. This process triggers audible and visual alarms, notifies the BMS, and alerts users promptly, ensuring system safety.

How Does Megarevo Balance Efficiency and Safety?

The MPS Hybrid Inverter is one of Megarevo’s flagship products. Achieving the optimal balance between system efficiency and safety is a key industry challenge. David Wang explained, “Megarevo adheres to a ‘safety and efficiency equally prioritized’ design philosophy, achieving this balance through several strategies.” He outlined the following measures:

· High-Efficiency Components: Utilizing advanced IGBT devices and intelligent thermal management technologies ensures high performance across various operating states.

· Advanced Energy Management Strategies: Collaborative operation between the EMS and BMS dynamically optimizes energy flow to enhance overall efficiency.

· Transient Expansion Readiness: Off-grid systems account for specific scenarios like diesel generator optimization to maintain operational efficiency.

· Layered Fault Protection: Features like dry contact control, battery overheat monitoring, and smoke detection alarms establish a robust safety foundation.
